Say the two initials of the contact you want to message. E.g. (JK for John Kent).
Say 1 to send a text or 2 to send an e-mail;
E.g. (say JK1 instead of 916-502-3498 or JK2 instead of johnkent@saytype.com)
Leave a normal voice message up to 120 seconds.

How to send hands free e-mail messages:
- Set up your account (see directions below) and add e-mail contacts to your address book.
- Call 916-94-SPEAK.
- At the tone...
- Say 2 to send e-mail. Then say the initials of the person you would like to message (for example, johnkent@saytype.com is 2JK2).
- Leave a normal voice message up to 120 seconds.
- Speak slowly and clearly for best results.
The voice message you record will be converted to text and sent typed out as an email message to the contact specified by the initials in your address book!
Example: "2JK2. Hey John, I'm just trying out this new service using 877-SAY-TYPE to send finger-free text messages." This message was sent to johnkent@saytype.com.
How to Set up your account:
- Make sure your phone is set to “Caller ID enabled / Call privacy-off”, or prefix the phone number with “*82” (e.g. *829169477325) as an alternative to enabling caller ID.
- Activate your account by calling 916-94-SPEAK (916-947-7325).
- At the tone, say "Testing 1, 2, 3" and hang up.
- After your first phone call to 916-94-SPEAK, your phone number will be added to the database so that you can log in to your address book.
- Your default password is the same as your 10 digit cell phone number (e.g. 9165023498). Your trial period is your first 21 messages.
- You will receive a text message shortly confirming your activation.
- If you do not receive text messages or are calling from a landline wait two minutes before logging in to your account with your phone number.)
- Click the "Log in" link in the upper right corner of the webpage.
- Enter your ten digit phone number twice.
- Enter a valid e-mail address and select a new password.
- Add e-mail addresses to you custom e-mail contact list.
